Dear Deidre, I have a new coworker and he drives me crazy. After lunch he leaves his peels on the counter and never puts the lid on the peanut butter jar. He only makes coffee for himself. His reply: ‘it’s a one-cup percolator’.
If I ask him to buy new inventory he starts to spell out 180 reviews first and then decides the price is too high.
We have a clear task division, nevertheless he butts his nose into my tasks all the time. For example: I’m head interior design and he keeps sending me photos which makes me think: ‘use this time to do your own tasks’. Meanwhile he keeps pretending everything is fine and he’s not the problem. And before you start going all ‘well how easy are you to work with’ on me let me just say: things work best when everyone does as I say and does as I do.
Unfortunately, firing is not an option because I need him since the workload is too heavy and too big. What to do?
Love, an desperate agriturismo-owner
